It did not extend to the coast of the Atlantic Gold and mineral salt(money). Mali(peak mid-1300):
Mali extended from the Atlantic to nearly a quarter of the way into the African continent(gained power of Ghana).
Gold,Salt,Copper,Spices,Ivory,Ostrich fethers,and Slaves.
Timbucktu. Songhai(peak 1450):
The largest of the 3 empires.
Covered most of the area included in Ghana and Mali.
Ruled by King Sunni Ali, captued Timbuktu 1468.
